Jenni Manning
Director of 3C Kidz Care

Jenni Graduated from Monash University attaining a Bachelors of primary teaching.  Over the years Jenni has been in roles that include relief teacher at Hillcrest Christian College, a teacher at the Marine Study Centre, Tooradin and Science teacher at San Remo Primary School
Some of her accomplishments include:

  • First Australian teacher invited to Kennedy Space Centre to study space education – 2 consecutive years
  • Developed a space education based business traveling to schools providing space presentations
  • Space presentations at Scienceworks Museum
  • Co-author of Mars Base experience for the National Air And Space Museum
  • Co-developed opportunity for Australian students to send experiments in to space (Biosphere experiment on board the International Space Station 2002 & ‘Spiders In Space’ on board shuttle Columbia in 2003)
  • Partnered with the Victorian Education Department and the Victorian Government to make the space experiments opportunity possible to Victorian schools
  • Partnered with RMIT University and Royal Melbourne Zoo during space experiment development
  • Worked alongside NASA and BioServe
  • Sought sponsorship and funding from government departments and businesses, Seven Network (competition on children’s program) and Cadbury’s (funding to send students to the shuttle launch)
  • Edited ‘Spiders In Space’ curriculum
  • Over 6 years of children’s ministry experience

Staffing:

The National Standards require the following staff ratios:
At the program - 15 children to 1 staff member, with a minimum of 2 staff    
ELC Children – 11 children to 1 staff member
Excursions - 8 children to 1 staff member            
Swimming - 5 children to 1 staff member

Qualifications:

Our staff qualifications:
Supervisor – Diploma in Children Services or higher
Assistants – Certificate III Children Services. Experience in Children’s Services / Attend Regular Training Sessions / Studying Cert IV in Children’s Services (OSHC)               
Supervisors will meet weekly to discuss activities and programming in response to children’s needs.  General staff meetings are held bi-monthly.
3C Kidz Care may take on students from Community Institutes eg. TAFE or Universities during the year as a requirement of their course under the supervision of our qualified staff.

Relief staff:

Relief staff are required when regular staff are absent due to holiday or illness. Every endeavour is made to use 3C staff. However, at times it may be necessary to employ agency relief staff.

Volunteers:

The OSHC program may use volunteers from time to time, but they are not be counted in the child/staff ratio and will not be paid
