National Quality Framework

3C Kidz Care aims to provide a highly professional service, based around the standards and parameters outlined in the National Quality Framework. We desire that each child’s experience at OSHC will be engaging, safe, productive and nurturing. With that in mind, we recognise that high-quality services need high-quality administration systems and processes. All of our programs are developed in accordance with the National Quality Framework’s seven focus areas:

Quality Area 1: Educational program and practice
Quality Area 2: Children’s health and safety
Quality Area 3: Physical environment
Quality Area 4: Staffing arrangements
Quality Area 5: Relationships with children
Quality Area 6: Collaborative partnerships with families and communities
Quality Area 7: Leadership and service management

Centre management regularly reviews programming and policy to reflect best practice according to these quality areas. In the following few pages we have clearly outlined how our centres operate in such a way that we are exceeding National Quality Standard in any number of areas.

Child Care Benefit & Child Care Rebate

The Australian Government provides families with two types of financial assistance to help cover the costs of approved child care - the Child Care Benefit and the Child Care Rebate. It is important to remember that while Child Care Benefit is based on family income, the Child Care Rebate is not income tested.

Child Care Rebate

Covers 50% of out of pocket child care expenses, up to a maximum amount per child per year, in addition to any amount you may receive from Child Care Benefit and/or Jobs, Education and Training (JET) Child Care Fee Assistance (if applicable).

Eligibility basics

•    you use a service approved for Child Care Benefit, and
•    you are eligible for Child Care Benefit, even if you earn too much to receive payment, and
•    you and your partner meet the 'work, training, study test' or are exempt from it
Child Care Benefit
Helps with child care costs such as long, family or occasional day care, outside school hour care, vacation care, pre-school, and kindergarten.

Eligibility Basics

•    use approved or registered child care
•    be responsible for paying the child care fees
•    have immunised your child

Each individual centre holds relevant licensing and approval of premises certificates required for operation. Regular maintenance of premises and equipment is negotiated with the college. All chemicals used within the centre have MSDS product data sheets and are compliant with individual college standards.

The centre is legislated by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. As an approved provider of an education and care service, 3C Kidz Care’s programs and procedures contribute to the following outcomes for each child:

• The child will be connected with and contribute to their world

• The child will have a strong sense of wellbeing

• The child will be a confident and involved learner

• The child will be an effective communicator

Whilst these five outcomes are ingrained in the programming of the service, 3C Kidz Care also ensures we are providing the highest quality care by consistently reviewing policy and procedure in relation to the Victorian approved learning framework: “My Time Our Place: a Framework for School Age Care in Australia”.

This framework outlines a set of guidelines to assist educators to provide children with opportunities to maximise their potential and develop a foundation for future success in life.

The framework contains three inter-strands of Belonging, Becoming, and Being. These strands are closely linked to one of the vision statements of the church – Believe, Belong, Become. These three areas are evident in the centre’s learning outcomes, principles and practice.

3C Kidz Care is registered as a care provider with Centrelink, making our services even more accessible to families. Parents can claim their Child Care Benefit percentages to reduce fees and can also utilise the Family Tax Benefit Scheme to claim the cost of Outside School Hours Care services. Our friendly staff regularly discuss these options with parents and are happy to point them in the right direction as to finding out their entitlements for OSHC care.
