History

3C Kidz Care began 10 years ago when Casey City Church members and parents at Hillcrest Christian College saw a need in the community for Out of School Hours Care at their school. Casey City Church submitted a proposal to run the program and began a successful partnership with Hillcrest Christian College in 2006. Over time we have developed the program to provide care for over 130 families in several schools in the City of Casey and the greater Melbourne area.

GOALS OF THE OSHC PROGRAM

To provide quality care of the families and children enrolled in the OSHC by:

•    The OSHC program strives to enhance each child’s strengths, abilities and self-esteem through the knowledge and understanding of God.

•    We aim to provide a secure, safe environment where healthy relationships and interactions between all who are involved in the OSHC program exist.

•    We endeavour to provide quality care for all who use this service by acknowledging that each child is unique and can reach their potential through a relationship with God.

•    To provide a homely atmosphere where children are involved in everyday activities (with staff supervision) for example, making their own afternoon tea, cleaning up after themselves, open discussions of God and other topics of interest and assisting their peers with school problems etc.

•    To provide an environment that nurtures each child’s sense of being, belonging, self-esteem, acceptance, freedom and trust with peers and educators alike.

•    Staff, students, volunteers and children communicate with respect to one another and in no way degrade, endanger, exploit, intimidate or harm a child’s psychological or physical stature.

•    Treating each child as an individual and a member of the group.

•    Encouraging each child to develop at their pace to reach their potential in social and emotional, physical, intellectual development.

•    Incorporating differing cultural aspects develops a greater awareness and understanding, respect and belonging with those among us. Having active communication between staff, children and parents enables successful planning as to achieve the points above
